Shayna works with visionary leaders and teams to build clarity and prominence for their ideas, so they can earn the partnerships, funding, and attention they need to win.

Shayna brings a data-driven, outcomes-focused approach to strategy and communications, rooted in approaches that translate even esoteric and complex information into accessible, inspiring, and share-worthy “so-whats” that drive action.

Prior to founding 42 Comms, Shayna spent more than two decades earning her stripes in the take-no-prisoners world of politics, where she learned to find a way or make one in every circumstance.

Shayna founded, scaled, and sold two political communications firms, published sector-leading research regarding the disconnect between advocacy and the policymaking process, led the North American team for the leading global civic tech company, built strategic communications for the founder of a leading neurotech company, and advised investors and startup leaders on social impact strategy, communications, and building the right teams and systems to win.

Shayna is a published expert in leadership and change management, was named an “Influencer 50” by Campaigns & Elections magazine, and taught Strategic Communications to graduate students at Georgetown University and to undergraduates at George Washington University.

A proud University of Colorado and Harvard Kennedy School alumna, Shayna spends her free time writing a book on the politics of venture capital, chasing two giant rescue dogs, acting as an unofficial tourism official for Los Angeles, and traveling as many corners of the globe as she can get to with her husband, David.
